Photo challenge 1: Rise

Rise/Set

I took this picture in the summer of 2015 at my summer camp. I have been going there for 6 years, it is the YMCA Camp Fuller in Kingston RI. This picture was from my last morning of being at camp, at around 5 AM. I had just lived there for a month in a cabin with 15 other girls, and it was an emotional time for all of us.

I am not a morning person, but I really wish that I was. This is one of the reasons why. We were all woken up at 5 AM and rushed down to the windsurfing docks to see the sunrise. None of us were cranky and half asleep, no one wanted to go back to bed.

None of us liked mornings, but when you see something this beautiful it is impossible to feel anything much more than appreciation and awe. As much as I don’t like mornings, I can agree that they are something we all should appreciate more often and this summer I want to get up super early and watch the sunrise, even if its only a few times, sunrises are beautiful, and we all need to appreciate how beautiful mornings are.

  1. Oh this is a good one. Really tells a great story. Your description speaks of camp, something I have not thought of in many years and so many people share in common. Thank you.
